About the Role
The Commercial Sales Solution Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise throughout the sales lifecycle for Air Link Data Center services. The incumbent translates complex client requirements into scalable technical solutions, including colocation, dedicated internet, and managed video services. By acting as a technical advisor to the sales team, the specialist ensures that all commercial proposals are operationally viable, competitively priced, and aligned with Air Link’s ANSI/TIA-942-B Rated 3 standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Discovery: Lead discovery sessions with prospective clients to identify their infrastructure, connectivity, and data storage needs.
Solution Architecture: Design bespoke technical packages for clients, ranging from 1U rack space to full private suites, ensuring redundant power and cooling requirements are met.
Commercial Proposal Development: Draft the technical specifications for quotes, RFPs, and tenders, ensuring accuracy in service level agreements (SLAs) and technical deliverables.
Managed Services Support: Provide specialized sales support for Managed Video Solutions, explaining video acquisition and global distribution capabilities to broadcasters and digital TV providers.
Sales Presentations: Conduct high-level technical demonstrations and "whiteboard" sessions to show how Air Link DC’s infrastructure solves client pain points like high on-site maintenance costs.
Liaison Operations: Serve as the primary bridge between the Commercial team and the Network Operations Center (NOC) to confirm resource availability before finalizing contracts.
Market Analysis: Monitor data center trends, such as VPS hosting and cloud migration, to help the sales team refine their value proposition against regional competitors.
Client Relationship Management: Act as a "trusted advisor" during the onboarding process to ensure the technical transition to Air Link DC is seamless.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge
Data Center Infrastructure: Deep understanding of Rated 3 facility standards, including N+1 or 2N redundancy for power and cooling.
Network & Connectivity: Solid grasp of Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), cross-connects, and fiber-optic networking.
IT Services: Familiarity with Virtual Private Servers (VPS), backup solutions, and business continuity planning.
Skills and Abilities
Solution Scoping: Ability to calculate power loads, heat dissipation, and bandwidth requirements for diverse client hardware.
Persuasive Communication: Skilled at explaining complex "Data Center as a Service" (DCaaS) concepts to non-technical business owners.
Technical Writing: Proficiency in creating detailed, professional technical proposals and diagrams.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to perform cost-benefit analyses comparing on-premise hosting versus Air Link colocation.
Minimum Experience and Training
Education: BSc. in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales engineering, or IT consulting, preferably within the telecommunications or data center industry.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), or similar are highly desirable.
