Renown Sports Club, established in 1956 and formerly known as Kent Cricket Club, was significantly influenced by its first president, Mr. Padooman Singh, in its formation. Over the years, the club has participated in numerous competitions, including the South Inter-Isle tournaments in the 1960s and 1970s, and the South Zone competitions in the late 1980s and early 1990s. They have played in the Super League of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board of Control (TTCBC) and the Championship League. Currently, the club competes in the South East Zone.
The club boasts notable players such as Sam Badree, known for his achievements in international cricket, Rishi Bachan, a former West Indies Under-19 player, and Gibran Mohammad, who has represented the national team and currently coaches the Trinidad and Tobago ladies' team. Many players have also competed for positions in the national Under-19 teams. In addition to cricket, the club participates in football and all fours competitions.
Renown Sports Club is currently hosting a youth development program with assistance from BASE. The club works closely with the SVCC and RDPS to contribute to community building and is registered as a non-governmental organization with the Ministry of Sports and Community Development.
